Many new moms choosing to start a freelance career during the time she is at home with the beloved new-born baby. How do you imagine a day that she will experience with her precious gift and the ‘free’ career? Let me share my story!
- Busy mornings
Very good news: thanks to the baby, you no longer need an alarm. Say bye bye to your late morning wake-up as the baby is calling you by increasing loud crying sound :)!
Normally my day starts at 6 or 7 in the morning when I need to feed the baby, change the diaper and the most importantly – talk, smile with the little angel. Then it is my breakfast time. Finishing at about 9 or earlier, I can spend time to start my work, doing the deadline chasing tasks while the baby is playing around and sleeping in about one hour in a meanwhile.
2. Baby-working afternoons
The afternoon starts when the baby asks for eating and playing plus changing diaper. During the period of the first 4 or 6 months, feeding the little baby is simple as I am doing breastfeeding. Since his 4th month, I need to prepare the vegetables food for him to eat at noon and fruit to eat at 4 o’clock in the afternoon. During that period, I can work at about 2 to 4 hours while playing with him next to me on his own carpet.
3. Resting baby – Busy mom evenings
The together leisure time with my little boy can last up to about 6 or 7 pm, when – like every other children, the baby is bored and wants to change the place of playing and enjoying. So to make my boy happy, I keep him in my arm and walk around the house, go out together to check any new letter arrival.
A day of my baby finishes at about 9pm after I do the ‘rituals’ (my husband’s word): putting his pyjama on, changing the diaper, feeding him (as thoroughly as possible). Then I have some more valuable time for working up to 11 pm or mid-night.
As you all can calculate, I can spend about 5-8 hours a day working my freelance work, quite well compared to an office worker, right?
Above all, happy mum & baby, happy time together with my little boy!
